As the cross has both vertical and horizontal beams, so the Christian life is meant to be lived out inlove for God and love for our neighbor. The "Jesus Creed" - Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all yoursoul, with all your mind, and with all your strength and Love your neighbor as you love yourself - best expresses the cross-shaped life practiced at Our Saviour Church. At Our Saviour, the heart and soul, mind and body are nurtured so that each person might grow to become a disciple of Jesus Christ utilizing their God-given abilities to make the world a better place for all.
Believing God intends his creation to be whole; Our Saviour Church has a whole-life style of ministry. Our hearts are made grateful and joyful as we gather in prayer, praise, and thanksgiving to God - to hear God's Word read, preached, and sung, to pray, and as we come to the Lord's Table during Sunday worship. Our souls are warmed as we gather for fellowship events and in small groups such as Our Saviour Sunday School, Women of the ELCA (WELCA) and Lutheran Men in Mission. Our minds are nourished as children, youth and adults gather to study God's Word and Luther's Small Catechism, along with contemporary faith issues. Our bodies are strengthened, too, as congregants and community members gather for the ministry and programs sponsored by our parish nurse. Then, we are sent to live out what we've learned and experiencedin our daily lives.
Our Saviour is a growing and active Christian communityof nearly 200 households located on Seven Mile Beach. Our member-disciples reside in Stone Harbor, Middle Township and Avalon. But we welcome seasonal guests to participate with us from througout the eastern United States. Our Saviour Church enjoys full communion with Episcopal, Moravian, Presbyterian Church USA, Reformed Church in America, United Church of Christ, and United Methodist Churches. All expressions of Christian faith are respected and treasured.Won't you join us!
