The welcome of baptism is for all God’s children. This baptismal gift sets us free from the power of sin and death. In today’s gospel, Christ promises that the disciple who gives a cup of cold water to the little ones serves Christ himself. From worship we are sent on our baptismal mission: to serve the little ones of this world and to be a sign of God’s merciful welcome.

Dear Members and Friends of Our Saviour:
My current “ear worm” (that song that plays over and over again in one’s head) is the famous ballad sung by Dame Vera Lynn, who died on Wednesday at the age of 103. Most of you know the opening words, “We’ll meet again, don’t know where, don’t know when….” Well, now we know where and when!
This Sunday, the Our Saviour family will once again gather for worship. This a joyous occasion!
Pastor Glenn and the Worship and Music Committee have planned a service that we all will find meaningful. It won’t be exactly the same as our “normal” service; we recognize that we must continue to protect our worshippers. But it will be lovely to be able to hear the Word read and preached once again.
Our 8:30 service will be held in the garden and it looks like the weather will cooperate. In a previous letter, there was the suggestion that members bring their own chairs, but we have decided to set up chairs instead. Our 10:00 service will be held in the sanctuary. For both services we will maintain social distance. This means we can only accommodate about 50 people per service. This may be enough for attendees but we thought we ought to inform you about this limit.
Masks are suggested for the outdoor service and are required for the 10:00 service.
We are hoping to live stream the 10:00 service on Facebook if all goes well. We will also be posting it on the website and Facebook after the fact. We will continue to make the worship service available online as we understand that there are those who are not yet ready to worship in person.
We are happy that we can gather together once again.
